Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon honey mixed with 2 teaspoons hot
- water
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds, toasted
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease or
- spray cookie sheets.
- Stir honey-water mixture into sesame seeds,
- stirring well to coat. Set aside.
- Cream butter with sugar and honey until light
- and fluffy. Mix flour with baking powder and salt. Stir into butter-sugar
- mixture to make a smooth dough.
- Pinch off pieces of dough and roll into 1-inch
- balls. Dip one side of balls in sesame
- seeds. Place on cookie sheets, sesame seed side up. Flatten slightly with the
- bottom of a drinking glass. Bake in the center of the oven for 13 to 15
- minutes, until golden. Let stand on cookie sheets for a minute, then remove to
- wire racks to cool.
