Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons butter, at room temperature, cut in 1/2 -inch pieces
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup plus 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds (benne)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- Line 2 cookie sheets with aluminum foil. Preheat oven to 325° F.
- Using electric mixer, cream butter and sugar together. Mix in egg, baking powder, flour, sesame seeds and vanilla.
- Drop batter by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake cookies on the center rack in oven for minutes or until they are
- firm and just beginning to brown around edges. The cookies brown
- quickly so keep an eye on them.
- Let cool on pans for 5 minutes, then remove to wire racks to cool completely.
