Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups flour
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.Cream butter and sugar on medium speed
- until light. Beat in vanilla and salt. Stir in flour to make a
- medium-stiff dough.
- Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until firm.
- Roll out dough to between 1/8 and 1/4 inch thickness, and cut shapes
- with 2- to 3-inch cookie cutters. Sprinkle with decorating sugar if
- desired.
