Paint Glaze

This glaze is designed to be "painted" onto cookies after they're baked and cooled. It's great for kids; just divide the glaze up among several small pots or the compartments of an ice cube tray, and let them paint away.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • A few drops of food coloring

Instructions

  1. Put sifted sugar in a small bowl. Stir in water. The mixture will be
  2. loose. Add just a few drops of the colorings of your choice. If you
  3. want to make several different colors, an ice cube tray comes in handy.
  4. Spoon a little of the uncolored glaze into each compartment, then add
  5. food colorings of your choice.
  6. Use a soft pastry brush or a wide, soft, new artist's paintbrush to
  7. brush the cooled cookies with the glaze. Allow frosting to set before
  8. serving cookies.
