Need something to take to the family reunion potluck? Gooey and sweet, these brownies are sure to disappear fast.
Ingredients
- 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips (semisweet or milk chocolate, as you like)
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup miniature marshmallows
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray or lightly grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
- Place chocolate and butter in a microwave-proof bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir. If chocolate is still quite lumpy, return to microwave and heat on high, in 10-second increments, just until the chocolate is warm enough to melt when stirred thoroughly.
- Stir in sugar, then eggs, vanilla, and salt. Stir in flour just until incorporated.
- Spoon batter into pan and smooth the top with the back of a spoon. Scatter chocolate chips, pecans, and marshmallows over the batter.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until brownies are firmed and set and marshmallows are golden. Let cool in the pan, then cut into squares, using a sharp knife dipped in hot water.
